Todd Rundgren

Friday, July 11 at 8 PM
Todd Rundgren has built a legendary career as a musician, songwriter, and performer, constantly pushing the boundaries of rock, pop, and experimental music. He first gained attention in the late 1960s with the psychedelic rock band Nazz before launching a solo career that showcased his ability to blend catchy melodies with innovative production. His 1972 album Something/Anything? became a landmark release, featuring classics like Hello It’s Me and I Saw the Light.
Never content to stay in one style, Rundgren embraced progressive rock with his band Utopia, exploring complex arrangements and synthesizer-driven sounds throughout the ’70s and ’80s. His solo work continued to evolve, incorporating electronic music, a cappella harmonies, and even interactive technology. Albums like A Wizard, a True Star and Nearly Human demonstrated his fearless approach to songwriting and performance.
Though also known for his work as a producer, Rundgren’s own music remains his greatest legacy. His ability to reinvent himself while maintaining a devoted fan base has made him one of rock’s most enduring figures. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021, he continues to tour and release new music, proving that his influence on modern rock and pop remains as strong as ever.
