The Pork Tornadoes are a powerful party band that has played all around the Midwest at the best and biggest bars, festivals, corporate events and weddings. Having played more than 600 shows in the last 12 years, this band has perfected their live show into an experience you won’t find anywhere else.
Their live show does the talking for them, as well as their signature taglines “Your Girlfriend’s Favorite Band” and “BeardPop.” The shroud of mystery surrounding the band, the terribly-poor choice in band name, and the head-scratching, enormous amount of video views (12 million) and fans on every social media website (75,000) are enough to bring curious music lovers out to a show to “see what all the fuss is about.”
With more than 20 years of live performance, studio recording and nationwide touring per member, the musical talent is off the charts, rivaled only by their attention to detail on sound quality and gear.
The band is led by singer Mason Greve, whose is arguably one of the best vocalists in the state and was one of 100 finalists on NBC’s The Voice in 2014. Putting their own spin on an eclectic mix of songs from Justin Timberlake, One Direction, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift to Kings of Leon, The Killers, Third Eye Blind and Coolio, they are truly one of the most versatile bands around.
Regularly helping bars and events sell out of alcohol, this band is a force like no other, creating a party wherever they go for their ravenous fan base, who sings along and begs for more.
“The magic's still there,” adds Barnes. "It's an emotional high for us to keep 'bringing it' after all these years. When those lights go down and we all walk up those steps to the stage and hear that crowd roar, it’s a real rush to the head. It feels like we're getting ready to strap ourselves in and it just takes off from there."
Birdchild will open the show starting at 9:30 PM. "Playing top 40 hits from the last 40 years" Birdchild will get you on your feet with nostalgic anthems from the 80's and 90's, along with your favorite music of today. Specializing in putting a Synth/Pop spin on their covers - they bring a party to any stage and will keep the crowd singing. You'll realize quickly why they are among Iowa's top cover bands!
Tickets are $25 plus tax and an online/phone ticketing fee (this fee is waived when tickets are purchased in the Gift Shop). Tickets in the ADA section are for patrons with mobility disabilities and up to three companions. If companion seating is not available because the ADA section is sold out, RCGR will offer other seats as close as possible to the accessible seat, if available, at the purchase price of the other section.
