Pam and Mel Tillis

Pam and Mel Tillis

Friday, March 27, 2015 - 8pm show

Country music legend, Mel Tillis, started performing in the early 50’s with a group called The Westerners while serving as a baker in the United States Air Force.  In 1956, Webb Pierce recorded a song written by Mel entitled “I’m Tired”, and it launched Mel’s musical career.

Mel has recorded more than 60 albums.  He has had thirty-six Top Ten singles, with nine of them going to Number One  - “Good Woman Blues,” “Coca Cola Cowboy,” and “Southern Rain” to mention a few.  Mel is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, the Nashville Songwriters International Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame.  Mel Tillis has been in the music/entertainment business now for more than 50 years.  He and his band, the Statesiders, have worked concerts all over the United States, Canada, England, and around the world, and continue to do so.

Pam Tillis is a superstar as well as a survivor.  A child of Music City royalty and a former rebel, she was determined to find her own way as a singer and songwriter — and she succeeded.  A CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, she has written songs for some of the top singers in and beyond Nashville, including more than a few of her own hits such as “Maybe It Was Memphis”, “Shake the Sugar Tree” and “Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life)”.  She knows what it's like to break the platinum barrier, to top the singles charts time and again, to bask in an ovation at her induction as a member of the Grand Ole Opry or play in the intimate hush of the Bluebird Café.  She has bathed in the lights of Broadway, posed for glamour magazine spreads, sung ballads in Bay Area bistros, batted wicked one-liners back to Tom Bergeron on Hollywood Squares, even made cameos in movies.

Tickets are $47, $37 & $27 plus tax and an online/phone ticketing fee (this fee is waived when tickets are purchased in the Gift Shop).  Tickets in the ADA section are for patrons with mobility disabilities and up to three companions.  If companion seating is not available because the ADA section is sold out, RCGR will offer other seats as close as possible to the accessible seat, if available, at the purchase price of the other section.   Tickets are on sale in the Gift Shop and online.

Hotel packages are available by calling 877-677-3456.  Packages are $235 and include a one night stay in a deluxe king or double queen room, two tickets to the show and two dinners at Robert's Buffet.  There are a limited number of hotel packages available.

Doors open at 7pm for the 8pm show.
