Merle Haggard with special guest Trailer Choir

Merle Haggard headlines our second outdoor concert of the summer on Friday, July 10th at 8pm. Special guest Trailer Choir will open the show.
The word "legend" usually makes an appearance at some point when discussing Merle Haggard. It's an acknowledgement of his artistry and his standing as "the poet of the common man." It's a tribute to his incredible commercial success and to the lasting mark he has made, not just on country music, but on American music as a whole.
Haggard finds his songs at the top of the charts on a regular basis. Immediately embraced by country fans, he has also earned the respect of his peers. In addition to his 40 #1 hits, Haggard has charted scores of Top Ten songs. He’s won just about every music award imaginable, both as a performer and as a songwriter, and in 1994 was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. His body of work including hits like “Mama Tried,” “Working Man Blues,” “Okie From Muskogee,” “I Think I’ll Just Stay Here and Drink” and “Pancho and Lefty” easily places him beside Hank Williams as one of the most influential artists in country music.
Rising country artists, Trailer Choir can be called many things; from the fun loving entertainers who rocked thousands on Toby Keith’s tour to three seriously determined entertainers who’ve poured everything into their careers. Their songs range from the party anthem “Rockin’ The Beer Gut” to the heart-wrenching “What Would You Say?” As they turn to 2009 and beyond, Butter, Big Vinny and Crystal know their story will be told only as the full spectrum of their music unfolds for all to hear. Sheer energy got their foot in the door, but it is their heart that will help them take the room.
Tickets are $35 or $65 plus tax and an online/phone ticketing fee (this fee is waived when tickets are purchased in the Gift Shop). Tickets are on sale in the Gift Shop and online at http://www.riversidecasinoandresort.com.
Hotel packages are available by calling 877-677-3456. Packages are $325 or $265 and include a one night stay in a deluxe king or double queen room, two tickets to the show and two dinners at Robert's Buffet.
